Flow Cytometer

analysis. The EPICS XL combines the analytical power of a
research cytometer with a compact, clinical analyzer designed
for maximum sample throughput in IVD applications. The EPICS XL
is self contained and biohazard safe. Like the FC 500, the EPICS
XL offers state-of-the-art Digital Signal Processing for
reliable linearity and drift free signal amplification and color
compensation. This color compensation can be easily adjusted
between all fluorescence parameters either manually or
automatically utilizing an automated setup panel.

The COULTER® EPICS® XL™ and XL-MCL™ flow cytometer combines the
analytical power of a research cytometer into a compact, truly
walk away, clinical analyzer ergonomically designed to expedite
sample throughput.
EPICS Options & Accessories
The XL system features the capability to analyze up to 4
colors of immunofluorescence from a single air cooled laser.
Other multi-color applications include: multiparametric DNA
analysis, platelet studies, reticulocyte enumeration, cell
biology/functional studies and as well as a broad range of
research applications. The instrument is self contained and
biohazard safe. The user retains the flexibility to change
filter elements for versatility in research settings.
For high volume users, the EPICS XL-MCL adds a Multi Carousel
Loader (MCL) for superior efficiency, capable of handling up to
100 samples per hour. True walk away automation is well executed
on the system. Each sample is carefully vortexed, and to aid
sample tracking the EPICS XL-MCL incorporates three-way positive
specimen identification utilizing bar codes.
Research versatility is achieved by user changeable optical
filters. This is perfectly complemented by a single laser
design, which eliminates concerns regarding alignment and signal
delay. The broad range of research applications possible with
the XL system includes 4-color immunofluorescence,
multiparametric DNA analysis, platelet studies, cell biology and
functional assays.
The XL SYSTEM II™ software fully automates instrument set-up and compensation for 2, 3 and even 4-color applications. Optional features in the software include tetraONE, the 4-color, one tube, automatic analysis algorithm and reticONE, the automatic analysis algorithm which revolutionizes reticulocyte analysis. Other SYSTEM II features include complete network connectivity with LANtastic Software allowing patient work list and report generation from remote sites. The industry standard SQL/ODBC database allows connectivity to 3rd party, Windows-based, software programs. Plus, true walk away automation is achieved with the AutoPrime feature.
